Born “Nicholas James Murphy,” Australian composer and singer Chet Faker is finally in Istanbul.
He settled on the name Chet Faker as homage to Chet Baker, the legendary jazz trumpeter. Faker is considered as one of the most original artists of “electronica” music the genre of music whose definition is broad in scope today. His downtempo, soul, and dub-step based compositions offer dance a spiritual dimension which he blends with his impressive vocals. The artist has released many singles and short records with multiple songs before recording his debut album “Built on Glass” in 2014, and has a unique fan base in Turkey as he does around the world. His “Thinking in Textures” won “Best Independent Release” at the Rolling Stone Australia Awards for 2012. Today music is never just music and Chet Faker is admired for his grunge hipster image and highly artistic music videos, and his concert will be enjoyed by those who like to dance as much as those who like to watch people dance
